Our Team
Dr. Britta Gilbert,
PT, DPT, OCS, COMT
Britta Gilbert is a Board Certified Orthopedic Physical Therapist (OCS) and Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). Britta graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor of science degree in 2001 and earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Marymount University in 2004 and 2007 respectively.
Britta is passionate about treating the whole patient and addressing many aspects of wellness and healing. Britta treats with an emphasis on the use of manual therapy techniques as well as teaching movement to maximize return to function and sports abilities.
Britta has a special passion for helping people with hip pain related to labral tears, hip impingement, muscle dysfunction, tendonitis, bursitis or after replacement. She specializes in discovering the root cause of the pain and helping patients get back to their active lifestyles!
Britta strives to maintain an active lifestyle. She was a collegiate swimmer at James Madison University, she has run the Marine Corps Marathon, participated in many triathlons and loves sailing, rock climbing, soccer and traveling internationally.
She enjoys working with athletes of all kinds and skill levels including swimmers and triathletes and is able to share her knowledge of stroke mechanics and efficiency as well as injury prevention and recovery.
Britta is a certified Pilates Instructor through Power House Institute. She has previously taught Reformer classes and private sessions at Sport & Health at their Tysons Greensboro and Regency locations. She utilizes core strengthening and stabilization techniques while teaching movement and is able to adapt Pilates to safely train those with prior injuries or limitations.
